The Edwards Audio MC6 Phonostage is a dedicated MM/MC phono stage offering separate, optimised signal paths for moving magnet and moving coil cartridges.
Cartridge type selection is made via a rear-panel switch, while internal DIP switches allow users to configure gain and loading for compatibility with a wide range of cartridges. These settings are factory configured as standard and are intended to be adjusted only by experienced users.

EDWARDS AUDIO MC6 PHONOSTAGE CIRCUIT DESIGN
Internally, the unit employs a pseudosymmetrical input stage designed for improved grounding and noise rejection, alongside a fully discrete, low-impedance Class A output stage. The design also includes an internal low-noise linear power supply and a FET input stage. RIAA equalisation is implemented using passive treble and active bass sections, with quoted accuracy of under ±0.25dB from 20Hz to 20kHz.
The MC6 is housed in non-magnetic aluminium casework and features a backlit acrylic front panel logo that changes colour depending on operating mode: red for MM and blue for MC. Standard gain is specified at 42dB for MM with an additional 20dB available for MC, while standard loading is 47kΩ for MM and 100Ω for MC. The unit offers a dynamic range of 110dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 68dB (500µV input).
